Programs EDUCATION – we offer Capital Planning Preparation workshops across the province (this is currently a general workshop and we plan to develop several more workshops on specialized topics and deliver these to more communities across Ontario); administer an on-line resource centre; publish a regular newsletter on capital topics. INFORMATION - we conducted a in-depth study with Ipsos Reid in 2006 to quantify the scope of the capital infrastructure challenge facing our constituents; we propose to conduct a bi-annual review to update these statistics; ArtsBuild Ontario intends to build a comprehensive database of the specific capital needs of its constituents to establish current and future need and assist capital funders in their planning and decision making. SOLUTIONS – we are studying a number of alternate financing tools used in other jurisdictions that would leverage and support a funding and financing program; we are working with a number of culture sector partners on this initiative and will collaborative with other non-profit colleagues in the environment and social service sectors. ArtsBuild Ontario remains very open about the wide array of solutions that could be established to address the substantial backlog of capital funding and financing needs in the province. Partnerships In addition to our 800+ constituents, represented through the arts service organizations on our Advisory Committee, we have established a series of significant collaborative relationships with peer organizations whose work intersects or complements our own. These include Artscape (property and community development); ArtsVest (private sector funding development); Creative Trust (organizational health development), Municipal Cultural Planning Partnership (municipal cultural plan development) and the Ontario Non Profit Network (specifically a working group that includes MaRS and the TIDES Foundation focused on financing tools). Through working together, we have identified a number of areas of collaboration, including further research on alternate financing tools and potential alliances with other organizations working in the non-profit sector.
