JOE LOBKO

Architect and Principal, du Toit Allsopp Hillier/du Toit Architects

Joe Lobko is a Toronto architect whose work has been focused on the community and non-profit sector as well as urban design. As a principal of du Toit Allsopp Hillier/du Toit Architects, a multi-disciplinary firm of architects, landscape architects and urban designers, he is responsible for leading a broad range of projects within the office. These include the Artscape Wychwood Barns and Evergreen Brick Works, two projects that combine a focus on adaptive re-use, an ambitious sustainability agenda and the accommodation of a broad diversity of program and use, as well as community wide intensification studies for Richmond Hill, Ajax and Brampton.

Past projects include the award-winning L'Arche Dayspring Chapel; the first legal live/work project in the City of Toronto for Toronto Artscape; and his participation in the development of an urban design plan for the West Donlands brownfield site adjacent to Toronto's Distillery District.

Volunteer efforts include his work as a past Chair of the Toronto Society of Architects, and serving as a member of Mayor Miller's Beautiful City Roundtable during the last term of Toronto City Council.
