Feasibility"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Feasibility studies are <b>objective analyses<\/b> that <b>test the viability<\/b> of a project concept by a number of different measures:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"\/pibi\/?p=814\" target=\"_blank\">Institutional, market and business feasibility<\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"\/pibi\/?p=815\" target=\"_blank\">Architectural feasibility<\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"\/pibi\/?p=817\" target=\"_blank\">Fundraising feasibility<\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Most feasibility studies require outside help<\/h2>\n<p>Feasibility studies for all but the smallest projects are typically led by consultants with expertise in planning cultural projects.\u00a0 If they have not already joined your <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"\/pibi\/?p=811\" target=\"_blank\">planning team<\/a><\/span>\u00a0to help flesh out the project concept, it\u2019s likely you will want to recruit outside help at this stage.<\/p>\n<p>The consultants will have an <b>advisory role<\/b>, but will also act as <b>impartial evaluators<\/b> of a project\u2019s possibilities.\u00a0 A good consultant can also help connect you with design professionals for the architectural feasibility analysis.<\/p>\n<h2>Results: If something is not feasible<\/h2>\n<p>Your leadership team must cultivate a <b>willingness to accept<\/b> the finding that a certain idea may not be feasible, and to make the necessary changes if they want the project to move forward.\u00a0 Even <b>unfavorable results<\/b> will help <b>inform adjustments to the concept <\/b>and identify conditions that must be met before the project is possible.<\/p>\n<h2>Results: Feasible<\/h2>\n<p>If the findings from feasibility are favorable (and they often are), your internal planning team will have to decide <b>whether or not to launch a fundraising effort<\/b> \u2013 a big decision that amounts to a go\/no go for the project and should have the support of the <b>full board<\/b> and <b>internal planning team<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>Remember that feasible doesn\u2019t mean guaranteed, and that lots of work remains, but you\u2019re off to a well-considered
