Typically, an architectural contract will stipulate a <b>scope of work and a fixed fee<\/b>, usually payable on a percentage-of-completion basis. Reimbursable expenses such as travel are usually charged in addition to the fee amounts.\u00a0 Other design consultants\u2019 contracts are similar.\u00a0 If unanticipated additional work is required during design, \u201c<b>additional services<\/b>\u201d may be added to the design contract for a separately negotiated amount.<\/p>\n<h2><b><i><\/i><\/b>Construction contracts<\/h2>\n<p>There are many types of construction contracts, which <b>vary with the type of project<\/b> and the method of <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"\/pibi\/?p=378\" target=\"_blank\">project delivery<\/a><\/span>.\u00a0 Contracts range from the simplest where you pay the GC for his <b>time and materials<\/b>, to a <b>GMP<\/b> contract (Guaranteed Maximum Price or GMax) used on projects with more complexity.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Contracts for design services Once a team is selected, you or your project manager will have to complete contracts with the various parties.
