{"id":811,"date":"2013-01-18T01:03:25","date_gmt":"2013-01-18T06:03:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.artsbuildontario.ca\/pibi\/2013\/01\/18\/planning-team-3\/"},"modified":"2017-04-21T14:43:15","modified_gmt":"2017-04-21T18:43:15","slug":"planning-team-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.artsbuildontario.ca\/pibi\/?p=811","title":{"rendered":"Planning Team"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Internal Planning Team<\/h2>\n<p>Early on in the Project Concept phase, you\u2019ll want to define <b>an internal planning team<\/b>, a small group of people within your organization who will lead project decision making from start to finish.\u00a0 Staff and board leadership must <b>understand<\/b> and <b>agree<\/b> on the project concept, or be willing to revisit it until <b>consensus is reached.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><strong>This group includes &#8211; at minimum:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Executive staff representative(s)<\/li>\n<li>Board leadership<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>And often:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Board members with relevant expertise<\/li>\n<li>Facilities staff<\/li>\n<li>Representatives from key departments within the organization.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This team should report periodically to the full board and <b>build consensus<\/b> around the agreed objectives.<\/p>\n<p>The planning team will also be responsible for securing funds to hire <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">external consultants<\/span> to help complete the Concept &amp; Feasibility phase.<\/p>\n<h2>External Consultants<\/h2>\n<p>Projects that have many possible solutions, have an impact on your existing operations, or will require fundraising beyond your usual reach will require a consulting team with specialized expertise \u2013 usually in arts &amp;
