Randy Dalton and Chris Loreto Join the ArtsBuild Board

ArtsBuild Ontario is pleased to welcome Randy Dalton, President, The Dalton Company Ltd., and Christopher  Loreto, Senior Consultant with Strategy Corp, to their Board of Directors. Chaired by Steve Mumford, President & Chief Executive Officer of the Creative Arts Savings & Credit Union, the ArtsBuild Board provides strategic advice and industry expertise critical to fulfilling ArtsBuild’s mandate of supporting the health of Ontario’s arts organizations by creating and realizing long-term solutions for their facility challenges.

Randy DaltonRandy Dalton is President of The Dalton Company Ltd., a professional building services firm. Celebrating 72 years in 2012, The Dalton Company Ltd.’s award-winning work includes Artscape Wychwood Barns, Yonge Centre for the Performing Arts, the National Ballet of Canada, Roy Thomson Hall, the Toronto Botanical Garden, and the Granite Club Aquatics Centre.

Working with the company for over 25 years, Mr. Dalton started as a Contracts Administrator, taking on increasing responsibility that saw him as Vice President of Project Management and Operations before assuming his current role as President.

A Torontonian and avid skier, Mr. Dalton was the past president of the University Club of Toronto and serves as Vice Chair of the Toronto Arts Council Foundation. A cancer survivor, Mr. Dalton is passionate about volunteering with the Canadian Cancer Society and Princess Margaret Hospital.

Chris LoretoChris Loreto is a Senior Consultant with Strategy Corp whichspecializing in providing clients with advice on public policy development, public-private partnerships (P3s), alternative service delivery (ASD), strategic and business planning, strategic procurement, capital projects development and delivery and stakeholder engagement. Mr. Loreto has more than 14 years of experience working in both the public and private sectors at the executive level. Prior to joining Strategy Corp., Mr.Loreto was a Vice President with the financial advisory practice of one of Canada’s largest professional services firms.

Mr. Loreto spent nine years with the Ontario government in increasingly more responsible positions. He was the Director of the Accommodation and Property Management Policy Branch with the Ontario Ministry of Public Infrastructure Renewal. Prior to that, he was the Manager of Affordable Housing Policy with the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing where he led the development of policy to implement the Canada-Ontario Affordable Housing Agreement, and was also the Manager of Corporate Policy and Special Advisor to the CEO of the Ontario Strategic Infrastructure Financing Authority (now IO Loans). In 2001, Mr. Loreto served as Chief of Staff to the Attorney General and Minister Responsible for Native Affairs where he managed sensitive files and issues critical to the advancement of the government’s agenda.

Mr. Loreto has his BA in Political Science from the University of Toronto and his MBA from the Schulich School of Business at York University.
